Our Provider Referral Program enables you to earn rewards by spreading the word about Headway to providers in your network! Your trust is extremely valuable to us, and we appreciate you advocating for Headway within your own community. 

What to know before getting started

  • Give $100, Get $350*: You’ll earn $350 for each individual provider you refer to Headway as soon as they complete our intake form, and your referrals will earn $100 as soon as they confirm their first session on Headway.
    • Note: This offer is currently not applicable to Group Practices. Instead, you'll earn $100 for each clinician you add to your group practice on Headway as soon as they confirm their first appointment.
  • There’s currently no limit to the number of providers you can refer to Headway or to how much you can earn via our Provider Referral Program.

 

Who to refer to Headway

Headway is able to support independently licensed clinicians in all 50 states. In order to qualify for a referral bonus, providers must meet the following criteria:

  • They have not previously been referred to Headway.
    If you refer a provider to Headway who has already been referred by someone else, the initial referrer will receive a referral bonus if the referred provider completes our intake form.
  • They are not already a provider on Headway.
    If you refer a provider to Headway after they've completed our intake form, you won’t be eligible to receive a referral bonus.

 

How Headway providers can refer

You can invite a provider to join Headway directly from your provider portal by providing us with their information or by sharing your unique share URL with them via email or social media.

If you’re not a provider on Headway, you can refer a provider to Headway from our website.

There are two ways to refer a provider to Headway: 

  • Share their information directly with us 
  • Share your unique referral URL with them

Sharing their information directly with us 

  1. Click on Or invite a provider directly in your portal

  2. In the pop up, enter their: 
    1. full name 
    2. Email address 
    3. Phone number 
    4. License type 
    5. Practice state

  3. Click submit

Once you click submit, our team will reach out to your referral to schedule an intro call 

 

Sharing your unique URL with providers in your network

You can either click to copy the unique URL to share OR click the email, Facebook, X, or LinkedIn icons to share directly with a personalized message. 

When a provider clicks on your URL, they'll be prompted to fill out our Getting started form. Then, our team will reach out to your referral to schedule an intro call. 

What happens after you refer a provider to Headway

  1. If the provider you refer directly, or a provider who clicks your unique share link, meets the criteria outlined above, one of our Practice Consultants will reach out to them to schedule an intro call
  2. If they decide to move forward with Headway after the intro call, we'll send them our intake form to complete
  3. Once they submit their completed intake form, you'll be eligible to earn a referral bonus

How and when you receive referral bonuses

If you referred a provider to Headway

You’ll earn a $350 referral bonus as soon as your referral completes their intake form if they meet the reward criteria outlined above. Here’s what to expect once that happens:

  1. You’ll receive an email with us with instructions on how to redeem your referral bonus
    • If you don’t redeem your bonus within 7 - 14 days of receiving that initial email, you’ll receive a reminder email to do so

  2. Once you receive that email, ​​click Redeem $350 to access the referral bonus
  3. After clicking Redeem $350, you’ll be redirected to PayPal

  4. In PayPal, select and confirm the email address you’d like to use

  5. After confirming the email you’d like to use for the PayPal transfer, you’ll receive an email confirming that your bonus is on its way

If you were referred to Headway

You’ll earn a $100 referral bonus as soon as you confirm your first session on Headway. Here’s what to expect once that happens:

  1. You’ll receive an email with us with instructions on how to redeem your referral bonus
    • If you don’t redeem your bonus within 7 - 14 days of receiving that initial email, you’ll receive a reminder email to do so

  3. After clicking Redeem $100, you’ll be redirected to PayPal

  5. After confirming the email you’d like to use for the PayPal transfer, you’ll receive an email confirming that your bonus is on its way

Additional details on earning referral bonuses

  • We currently issue all referral bonus payments via PayPal and are unable to make exceptions to this policy. By participating in our Provider Referral Program, you are agreeing to receive any referral bonuses via PayPal unless otherwise communicated.
  • If you don’t have a PayPal account, you'll need to create an account. Once you create an account, you’ll be able to quickly transfer any referral bonus payments directly to your bank account.
  • If you receive over $600 in referral bonus payments from Headway, PayPal will also generate a 1099 for you in accordance with IRS requirements.

 

* Previous offers

For Referrals Submitted between 01/10 - 03/10/2024: Between January 10, 2024 and March 10, 2024, we ran a series of small, randomized tests to determine which incentive structure works best for our Provider Referral Program, meaning that the referral incentives available to you might be different from what your colleagues receive or what you see on the website during this time.

If you joined Headway on or prior to January 10, 2024, you should have received an email from us explaining these changes on January 10.

If you joined Headway after January 11, 2024, you should have received an email from us explaining these changes when you completed your intake form.
